At Polypipe we are committed to a policy of responsible use of natural resources. An integral part of this commitment is the effective and efficient management of energy; it is through a holistic approach that we will endeavour to balance the delivery of sustainable improvement in business performance and operating results with the requirement to manage and reduce energy consumption.

Part of our commitment involves the engagement of our employees at all levels; the benefits of good energy management will be made clear to all employees, thereby encouraging a responsible attitude towards energy use and conservation. The policy will be delivered through a variety of initiatives and activities, both short- and long-term.

We shall, as far as possible, ensure that;
  • We use and introduce scientific innovation and technical solution to reduce energy and water waste and consumption.
  • We utilise effective monitoring systems to measure and target areas of inefficiency, and promote areas of good operating practice.
  • We regularly educate and train our employees to raise their awareness of energy and water use, waste and conservation.
  • We implement processes that maximise energy conservation potential during the repair, modification or construction of buildings.
  • We progressively increase the use of alternative and renewable sources of energy.
  • We maximise benefits from lighting, heating and production of energy whilst minimising the level of overall energy waste.
  • We maintain all buildings in good order.
  • We operate all manufacturing plant and equipment, heating, lighting and air conditioning at optimal efficiency.
  • We implement purchasing procedures that include the energy consumption and efficiency of plant and equipment as an integral part of the procurement process.
