To support our range of products we have an experienced technical team of fully qualified civil engineers. This enables us to provide detailed specification support, which ranges from Rainstream rainwater harvesting assessments to microdrainage calculations for piped or crate systems. It is the breadth of their experience with Polypipe Civils and now Polypipe WMS that allows them to provide and help specify the most appropriate solutions.

Name: James Cox Job Title: Technical Services Engineer Currently responsible for:Handling incoming enquiries for technical information on site design and product specifications. My specialist area is calculating and creating technical CAD drawings for the Rainstream Rainwater Harvesting System. I am also responsible for creating and designing value engineered projects in the Southern region of the U.K. Previous Roles: Restaurant manager. Name: Stuart Houghton Job Title: Design Engineer Currently responsible for: My role as a design engineer involves providing technical advice on the application and installation methods of our extensive product range. Previous Roles: The early part of my career was spent working in the design office of a geosynthetics manufacturer, producing detailed designs for reinforced soil structures. Examples of recent achievements: The new challenges presented by the adoption of sustainable urban drainage have required me to develop alternative approaches and skills in the application of Polypipe products. Qualifications:BEng in Civil & Structural Engineering from Bradford University. Currently studying a MEng in Urban Water Engineering and Management at Sheffield University.

Name: Chris Mars Job Title: Design Engineer Currently responsible for: Providing design and technical suggestions on the use of our products within the Water Management Solutions range. I am also responsible for creating value engineered drainage design solutions for applications in Scotland and Ireland. Previous Roles: Extensive experience in a local authority, consulting engineering and water company environment.

Name: Michael Cole Job Title: Technical Services Engineer Currently responsible for: Providing design and technical advice for applications involving our products. I also perform deformation and buckling calculations and produce technical CAD drawings for various projects. I am also responsible for creating and designing value engineered projects in the Southern region of the U.K. Previous Roles: Various Roles within Bars and Hotels. Examples of recent achievements: My 1st Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and several medals in Tae Kwon-Do sparring championships and even fighting the undefeated world champion. Qualifications: 1st Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons), a Merit in HND Mechanical Engineering and various CAD qualifications. Hobbies: Tae Kwon-Do, Ice Hockey and Football. I am most proud of: Achieving a 1st in my degree and achieving a Black Belt in Tae Kwon-Do.

The marketing department does not only make sure that the industry is aware of the Polypipe WMS products, but is also keen to disseminate as much information as possible about the legislation that surrounds SUDS. Constantly updating our knowledge is key to ensuring that our customers are fully informed.

Name: Rachel Smith Job Title: Marketing Manager Currently responsible for: The successful promotion of Polypipe Water Management Solutions, both its systems and services through all communications channels including new media, PR and advertising. Member of the Underground Drainage Panel at the British Plastics Federation. Previous Roles: 2001 - 2005: Communications Manager for Saint-Gobain Pipelines Examples of recent achievements: Developed a three stage training programme for our distribution partners, incorporating desk based study, Polypipe factory tour and wider construction industry training. Successfully launched Polystorm Lite, the modular cell system specifically designed for use in landscaped areas to the market. Organising a wedding without going grey! Qualifications: 1st class honours degree in international business and finance from the Open University. Hobbies: Going to the gym (I do occasionally do more than just relaxing in the Jacuzzi!), cooking for my friends and walking my dog Jimi. I am most proud of:Getting my degree while working full time and my fantastic family who helped me achieve it.

Name: Emma Thompson Job Title: Marketing Executive Currently responsible for: Providing support to the Marketing Manager in producing marketing campaigns, brochures and presentations and act as a link between the sales force and the marketing department. I also manage the PR, Exhibitions, Conferences and Seminars for Polypipe Water Management Solutions. Previous Roles: Events Marketing Specialist, Finning UK Ltd (Dealer for Caterpillar) Internal Communications Specialist, Finning UK Ltd Marketing Assistant, Electrolube (A division of HK Wentworth) Qualifications: First Class BA Hons Degree Marketing Hobbies: Walking, Badminton, Dog Training, Films, Flower Arranging I am most proud of: Achieving a First grade for my degree.

Name: Kevin McDonnell Job Title: Product Analyst Currently responsible for: Market research for potential new channels and opportunities. Previous Roles: Product Manager, FPS, RS Components. Examples of recent achievements: Delivering incremental sales in each of my roles. Qualifications: HNC Business & Finance. Hobbies: Coarse fishing, football, reading. I am most proud of: My wife, and my Halloween themed wedding.

The commercial department for Polypipe WMS not only looks after providing the correct solution for your project but provides support throughout the process, making sure that the correct system is specified right through to instructions on how to maintain the system if necessary.

Previous Roles: Operations Manager – Hire & Tooling Company (Hy-Ram); Materials Sales Manager – Major Uk Pipeline Supplier (Fusion Provida); Depot Manager – PE pipe fabricator (Engineering Services). Examples of recent achievements: Double-album recorded for Luton based band ‘Dead Girl On Pavement’ Qualifications: 5 x GCE O’ levels; 4 x NCEB Credits; Financial Planning Certificate (gives me the initials MLIA (dip.) after my name (Member of the Life Insurance Association by diploma). Hobbies: Music (Bass player in band); Trials and Motocross bike riding (no trophies and several broken bones to show for it all)! Name: Nick Kennedy Job Title: Specification Executive for Ireland Currently responsible for: Working with architects, consulting engineers, quantity surveyors, civil engineers and city / town and county councils to develop Water Management Solutions and sustainable drainage systems in the south of Ireland. Previous Roles: Sales Director (Ireland): Marble and Granite stone Tile Company. Sales & Development Manager (Ireland): Precast concrete frames, Panels, hollowcore flooring and culverts Examples of recent achievements: Over the years I have taken new products and launched them to the Irish construction industry and have always had a high degree of success. I credit this in part to the high quality of the products and service I had brought to the market, the systems I am currently unveiling are no exception. Name: Satnam Johal Job Title: Fabrications Manager Currently responsible for: Running the Fabrication Dept at Polypipe Civils Ltd. Previous Roles: Started off working life as an apprentice in the building trade, have been with Polypipe Civils since 1988. Examples of recent achievements: Successful completion of IOSH managing safely course. Managing to ensure all welding personnel successfully gained their CSWIP certification. Recently became member of the management committee of CSWIP( Plastic welder certification scheme) Qualifications: City & Guilds ( Brickwork). IOSH - Managing Safety. Hobbies: Football.
